Imagine a world where mothers unlock their motherly power to embody their womanhood.
My mission is to help women embody the power that comes from motherhood and to apply that power to all parts of their lives.
I'm Giselle Baumet (pronouns: she/her). I'm an Afro-Latinx of Dominican decent Childbirth Educator, a Postpartum Doula, a trained Aromatherapist and Herbalist, Reiki Practitioner, Certified Lactation Educator/Counselor, a Certified Transpersonal Hypnotherapy, Certified Womxn's Life Coach, CPR instructor, and Perinatal Mental Health Specialist.
This body right here...
This body right here birthed four beings. Each one completely different. My first one I questioned nothing. I did what I was told and didn't prepare in any way more than reading a book. I trusted fully on my OBGYN, who as it turned out in the labor told me at one point "I need to get to my house by 11am to meet with my contractors and I really want to do this vaginally, so I need you to push harder." I knew exactly what that meant. It was heading to surgery if I didn't manage to push this baby out by the time my OB needed to leave. My daughter was born vaginally.
But I knew I wanted to do things different the second pregnancy.
I prepared, hard. I learned about my body and how to prepare for labor. How to ask questions. What I was not taught was the spiritual part of labor and of birth. In the 12 weeks of classes with the Bradley Method, I learned how my body works in labor, but the downside of the training is that I was taught to fear hospitals and to fear my care providers. I did give birth to my son with no medications and it was stirring. It made me curious and more open.
By the third pregnancy, I was now a childbirth educator. And I created a class that covered what I did not receive in my birth preparations. I connected with my body in a spiritual way and birth was as exhilarating as an orgasm. It was out of this world, it was spiritual.
Each birth changed me and carved a new me that was not there before.
Then came the fourth birth that changed everything.
I choose a home birth and a midwife. And at 37 weeks, I had to leave the midwife because she became more medical than the average OBGYN and would not let me waiver out of a procedure she insisted on. I reached out to midwives I knew and was able to find a new midwife literally overnight (thank you South Coast Midwifery).
I birthed surrounded by my kids and my friend. And while my partner (now ex-husband) was present, by that time, we had no connection and so it was all me. I mustered the strength and that raw inner power we have inside to birth the most intense birth I had experienced. It was as if I had reached a peak of power.
And then I crashed.
Postpartum depression hit hard. I owned the largest natural baby store in the county and I could not get myself to leave my house for weeks and weeks and weeks (thank you to the amazing team I had at the time who kept it going!) It took me a long time of complete loneliness and suppression before I emerged from postpartum depression.
The Journey to Embodiment
I spent the next few years in transformation. And in waking up the spirit that had been suppressed for so long. In deep exploration. In furthering my education and in soaking in everything. In vulnerability and questioning everything I thought I knew about myself as a mother. And then...in full embodiment.
My mission over the years evolved from saving the planet through sustainable products for children (what was Granola Babies) to saving the world through helping mothers reclaim their power through their emerging identity. To channel the power of motherhood through their womanhood. I do this through my classes, Intuitive Coaching and in reaching the subconscious with Transpersonal Hypnotherapy.
All mothers are invited.
Becoming a mother changed everything about me. And like many, I spent years lost and unsure who I truly was. Then came the embodiment. Instead of taking the long way to find this truth, I want every mother to experience that from the beginning.
This journey has made me fiercely passionate about supporting and elevating women in body, mind, and soul. I know when we do that, we elevate their world. Making a positive impact on our society as a whole.
Work that I Love
Many years ago, I left my corporate marketing position to pursue what was my true calling in life. I spent years gathering the knowledge and experience I needed to be able to full heartily do this work.
And I get to do what I love and the work that I feel I was called to do in my life: teaching pregnancy, postpartum, and mothering classes for 15 years and going. I regularly teach Labor + Postpartum, Newborn Care, Breastfeeding & First Time Parenting Class, CPR + First Aid for Infants and Toddlers, Fourth Trimester Virtual Group for New Moms, Positive and Mindful Parenting and more.
And from a deep down desire to support and nurture mothers, I also facilitate Loom: the Sisterhood of Mothers and Consciously Conceiving Women's Circle, and the annual event, Tapestry Summit. I also offer Wholistic Postpartum Services.
